Alright, I just finished playing it. It took me around 5-10 minutes, but since you mentioned it's a short game, I don't really mind.

So first of all:

What I liked:

  • The letter animation and sound of the speech bubbles. Gave me undertale vibes.
  • The lighting: how the different sprites cast shadows, reacting to the light sources. Looks very polished.
  • The art (I don't know if it's self-made, but if yes, then good job.
  • Can't say much aboud the code, but everything feels fluent so there's that.
  • Possible replayability with different words; sadly, the clues are always at the same places, but I know it would be a lot of work to change that and would kind of ruin the point of this being a learning project.

Possible Improvements:

  • footstep sounds
  • diagonal movement, but since it's only a small game, I am guessing it's not really worth it to add logic and sprite animations for that.

Negatives:

  • too short, haha.

Conclusion:

Honestly, I think this is the perfect example of how one's first game should look like. Nothing big, but something short and sweet. Something you can improve your experience with. Most people want to create their dream game as a first project and tend to burn out. Keep making stuff and never give up!

Thank you for playing my game. I'm really glad that you enjoyed it.

The player gets stuck when they interact with the plant if they are standing to the right of it. Great job my word was avalanche!

(-1)

That's what I'm saying!!! This game needs a deep polishing on fixing bugs! I've got the word "prisitne" though, lol

(+1)

Well its a new dev and from what I hear a younger one so i think its a great starting point for a great Dev career.

(+1)

Thank you. I am brand new and only 17 so thank you for your kind words.

(-1)

ELEVEN!?!?!?!?!!

it clearly says 17 one seven seventeen. Sorry you have issues reading english.

(-1)

Oh, seventeen... Stupid font, LMAOOOO. Well, anyway, I'd hope you'll eventually  get the steel to either translate (assuming you're not a native English speaker) and, well... Address the problems in the game. But, for the love of science, don't spam with gratitude several times in a row the discussion...

I hope you will eventually learn people avoid you and don't talk to you becuase you are toxic and a troll. Its OK you will get banned soon. You cant just come on some ones page and start cursing and causing a ruccess. I have reported every comment you made on this page. Just waiting on the ban hammer my friend.

(-1)

Well, yeah, you got the point. . . I just assume that they are (devs) able to communicate when releasing games. I mean, they still should!!! But, ergh... Well, hope he will try to fix the mess and eventually speak properly to the people on the Internet.

Brother I think you need to get banned from this site. You are VERY toxic.

(-1)

Sheesh, you do you, I do myself. I ain't that "toxic"

I don't even think that I've written is considered toxic. It was a discussion???????

The concept is awesome, the art is incredible. My issue is that there's a lot of bugs and cripples in the game. Constant directions on the left top screen seem annoying, but not such as the need to click on the "Close" button when the text is showing. (AND WHY THERE'S A SCREENSHOT OF IT, SAYING THAT YOU NEED TO LEFT CLICK TO CLOSE THIS THING WHEN IN REALITY YOU NEED TO MOVE YOUR CURSOR ON THE "CLOSE" BUTTON?! I SUPPOSE IT'S A FEATURE FOR LUNIX?! BUT NOT FOR WINDOWS???)

The character may walk backwards at certain point...

I guess this game just needs to be polished further. It's playable but annoying.

Art 10/10

Concept 7/10 (Wish there were more hints lol. And, I guess, "hidden" clues were randomized. Kudos for password change though!!!)

Functionality 1/10

(-1)

I JUST SAW THAT THE SCREENSHOT INCLUDES "ACTIVATION FOR WINDOWS"

THEN... WHa- WHY DID YOU REMOVE A CONCEPT THAT ACTUALLY *IS* HELPFUL?! AND THEN PUT A SCREENSHOT THAT SHOWS IT!!! SHOOT, I FEEL SCAMMED LMAOOOOOOO

The game.

Screenshot???

Thank you for playing my game and thanks for the feedback.

(-1)

Dude, are you gonna... Like, actually try and fix the issues? Your comment doesn't give this kind of vibe, lol

(1 edit) (-1)

Ugh, I guess it was meant to be clicked on "Left Click to Close" that's why you removed it. Yet, still, why not make the whole area accessible for skipping the "dialogue"???

Thank you for the feedback.

I had a really fun time playing this short experience, my only real gripe is that I kept hitting escape to close the dialoug menu out of muscle memory, and the game would insta close. Maybe a nag menu or something to stop that. Other than that I had a really good time!!
